Utterances of the Month Project Description
- Why we're collecting ToBI labelled speech
- Over the past decade, ToBI labellers have found that they are sometimes unsure how to apply the current ToBI labels
to spontaneous speech. In the workshop this summer, we plan to look at issues that have arisen. We'd
like to use as many 'real life' examples of ambiguous or difficult labeling situations as possible.
- To vet these issues,
we're asking researchers to submit examples and label those that are submitted by others. We'll compare
labels and post the agreement/ evolving issues that the labels present.
- The topics that surface during this pre-workshop virtual discussion will help to shape the agenda of the workshop.
Now is the time to put your issues on the table!!!!
- What to submit
- Sets of 2 or more speech (audio) examples of a particular issue
are especially welcomed along with a description of what they illustrate. If possible, submit your own labels as well.
- Name your files with some convention so that we can identify who submitted them (especially important if you sftp them).
For example, the first MIT submissions are called MIT1.wav and MIT2.wav.
